.Pullips are Japanese Fashion dolls created by the Korean Company Cheonsang Cheonha and marketed by Jun Planning of Japan. They're 12" in height, pretty much like a normal Barbie, but their large heads surely make them look bigger! Each month a new doll is released, with its complete set of clothes and accessories. They also have an unique eye mechanism that allows her eyes to move to both sides and blink!
.They were first released in 2003, with what's known nowadays as the "Type 1" body. This body has visible screws, large busts and weak necks. In December 2003 a new body is used, now referred as "Type 2", which has a soft-plastic torso, removable hands and feet. A third body was created on 2005, the "Type 3" body, first used in the Lan Twins. Made of hard plastic, its hands and feet are smaller and cannot be removed. As these bodies have their failures and not everybody is a fan of them, doll owners usually replace them with Obitsu or Volks bodies. These products come in a limited range of colors, so you need to remember that they will not be a perfect match (unless you tone them, but that's not something everyone does). As a personal choice, I like Obitsu Hard Bust overall, since it has a really nice range of movements and I don't like soft torsos. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion, aren't them? ;D
.Another interesting fact about Pullips is their high range of customization. You can replace their wigs and eyes, and some people even paint new faces on them, just like with BJD dolls. Arietta was the first Pullip released with a wig, as older dolls came with rooted scalps.

.Pullip is not alone! She also has a tiny version of herself, the Little Pullip; a boyfriend, Taeyang (she dumped Namu around January 2006), who has a little sister called Dal.
